Who Time's Man of the Year should have been |
|
Dick Armey, founder of the teabag movement.
The award is to the person who'd affected the world the most, for good or evil. Naming Armey would have done two things: it would have pointed out the one person who's most responsible for the impending doom our nation faces, and it would have, for all time, killed the meme that the teabag movement is grassroots.

no it shouldn't have been a kid who started a website that's bullshit but neither should it be someone like dick armey who started a movement to protect the status quo rich fucks which is equally bullshite and non courageous
why not just admit the idea of "man of the year" is a crock if you're going to put up dick armey?
i think a "man of the year" should be a hero of some kind, and as far as i'm concerned, even if you don't agree w. him, the courage shown by julian assange is far and above the field

7. Get an actual newspaper and read it |
|
Half of the stories and half the LTTEs are ads for the fucking Tea Party. Since all we have heard the last couple of years is tea party, tea party, tea party, I feel it's only fitting to point out it is NOT a grassroots movement, it is very tightly controlled by Fox News and Freedomworks.

9. You're right, so Dick Armey would not qualify. |
|
If they picked Rotten Louse of the Year, Dick Armey would win in a landslide.

12. it's not always a person either |
|
Many times a group or idea or thing has been selected. I was checking out the list of all the ones selected since they've been doing it and there's a whole lot of interesting selections other than specific people. The most surprising thing was how damn long it took them to finally start calling it Person of the Year instead of Man of the Year... although calling it Person of the Year doesn't make much sense either.
