Thanks for the implicit "messaging," Mr. President!

3. Bullshit. Immelt is a left-winger, and one of Keith's allies at the parent company.
You'll ignore any amount of facts in order to bash Obama.

6. A "left-winger!?" Running GE?
Edited on Sat Jan-22-11 12:52 AM by villager
Your post shows how utterly damaged the definition of "left-winger" has become in such a right-wing era.

19. More like a corporate opportunist
His contributions look like nothing more than laying markers for reedemable chits. He gave to Hillary, Mitt, Rudy, and McCain in the same election cycle. RNC and DCCC. Roy Blunt and Debbie Stabenow.

I couldn't agree more.

BTW, it's not just Obama -- it's the entire illusion of "choice," of there being "two" parties, etc.

The destination they have in mind for us is the same.

11. Well, I will concede, GE only owns 49% now
And Comcast owns 51%

One assumes there was no particular protest from GE, for the move?

12. Yes I'm sure it was all an Obama hatched plan from the West Wing
to have a talkshow host sacked who was a fierce supporter of his going all the way back to the early primaries, and only criticized him very gently whenever they disagreed.

Make sure you know what the hell you are talking about the next time you make a cheap shot at the president.

14. All I'm saying is: What does this tell us about our politics now?
The day the owner of the GE network is invited to a White House position, and his company shifts 2%- plus "control" to another company, one of their most liberal commentators is canned.

Just look at the "visuals."

It's not an "Obama plot," I grant you (at least we both agree this doesn't constitute "chess!")

It simply tells us what this White House, and the rest of us, are reduced to.

23. It's called "getting the finger".
Obama is projecting a crystal clear message. Now that he's chosen to genuflect on corporations in the form of lower taxes and less regulation he's probably got a second term in the bag. As icing on the cake he's re-made his west wing to read like the board of directors on the New York Fed.

It's going to be a long six years for those of us who happen to be outside the bubble. The other 99.8% that is.
