19. What is laughable, IMHO, is the thought that many here have that Obama's corporate overlords
Edited on Sat Jan-22-11 11:47 AM by grahamhgreen
will continue to support him through the 2012 election cycle.

Obama is simply being played: He is being wined and dined by the power elite and has fallen into their trap - he thinks they actually support him, but they are really just using him to further their agenda. They are not his friends, or yours. They know a real Republican will be a better fit for them in the White House, and they will destroy him when the 2012 election cycle starts in full, and throw their weight behind Mitt Romney, Hailey Barber, or whoever they run against him.

They are going to turn on him like the rabid teabaggers they support financially.

They told us Obama could never win in 2008, but he did, despite what he was up against, because of his grass root support by progressives, and his espousal of progressive ideology, such as: Out of Iraq, Close Gitmo, End Rendition, Tax the Rich again, Single-Payer, etc..

He thinks he is in power due to the power elite, he is not, it was the people who supported his ideas that got him elected, and he stands little chance in 2012 unless he changes his tune.

A 2012 progressive primary challenger is the best way to get him back on track, and if he fails to do so, our primary challenger will be our best bet for winning in 2012.

An Keith is just the man for the job!

Now, c'mon, chip in $5!!!

12. That's exactly what people told me about Obama! But, because of Obama's

progressive ideas - taxing the rich, single-payer, out of Iraq, close Gitmo, raise the SS cap, etc. - he was swept into the White House. Unfortunately he has abandoned those solutions to our problems, solutions the majority of Amercans support.

If Americans were right wing - we would never have elected Obama - they are not. Obama has moved too far to the right to be viable in 2012, IMHO.

Come on - pledge $5, I know you want to!!!!

10. First thing I thought of ... and we have to stop fooling around with candidates
who are pre-owned and pre-bribed by corporations - especially when they

are already millionaries and multi-millionaries!

We need outsiders who can run on Dem label -- Tom Hayden -- Martin Sheen --

Bernie Sanders -- Jerry Nadler --

Women as well -- Carol Maloney -- where's Patricia Schroeder? --

Democrats and Obama have been totally ineffective in fighting the rise of

the right wing -- all too often helping it as with the Comcast ruling!

And back room deals with private health care industry!!

This is the rise of the Fourth Reich -- and we had best get serious about it!!

17. Obama, and many here, foolishly believe that the corporate overlords who appear to be supporting him
are going to continue to support him through the 2012 election - they won't.

The only reason they have not unleashed the Krakken on him is that they DON"T want a primary challenger.

As soon as election season starts in full swing, they will throw their weight behind the real Republican and beging the PR campaign to destroy Obama.

Obama won because he appealed to progressive, and Americans are progressive - that's why they elected him!

Always a pleasure, D&P! PS - What do you think of the "Pledge Thread" idea?

I'd vote for him if he ran for Senate. I'd give money to his campaign too, assuming I had some.

and a greater President, IMHO.

Let's just hope we can light a fire under him to run for something (although hosting a show on, say, CNN would be a nice idea too....)
