I believe that KO's a strong survivor |
|
He'll make a strong comeback, I'm sure.
Success is always the best revenge.

1. I am with you, MrS. Olbermann knew this was coming |
|
everyone knew this was coming. He has had some time to prepare. I have a feeling we will be hearing much of Olbermann in the near future. Something where he will have complete control, possibly harnessing the internet.
And I expect Ed and Rachel are already planning a future not at Comcast.

2. You can believe anything, but sometimes contracts have ugly clauses |
|
which could preclude KO from just switching chairs and microphones.
Because of the way Schuster was treated, we know that MSNBC has such clauses in their contracts. We just don't know what exactly they say and limit.
Keith may be back, but it may take ~24 months. And those months, and elimination of left-friendly talking heads, may be all that is needed for the Corporations to use CU to float their puppet (at this point I'd bet Jeb Bush) into the WH.

4. The giant pile of money he made must be some consolation, too. |

6. Many will miss his show |
|
But honestly, this may be a great move for him. He may have something else in the works that is even better than this. His work with the clinics maybe or some other work that may help many people. I don't know why it always has to be doom and gloom around here. Think about how frustrating working in the media is today-- I heard an interview on the radio about a series done on guns in the Washington Post and the reporters were clearly being very careful with their language and about making any deductions in the interview. They were like...errr. "we like being employed." Wouldn't it be cool if his next big project was working on an alternative media outlet kind of like Air America only better? I think as long as Keith is doing something he is passionate about, we are all benefiting one way or another.
