Double barf: Gingrich (R-GA) now appears to be on track for a presidential run.
"In the last 24 hours, former U.S. House speaker Newt Gingrich has touched base with several prominent Republicans in his former home state, telling them that he intends to make a run for president in 2012 using Georgia as his base - and that he already has his eye on office space in Buckhead for a campaign headquarters."

Atlanta Journal news:

Article indicates he is testing the political waters for support.

16. Funny thing. I thought the same about them voting for Bush.
'Course, "voting" and "counting the votes" be 2 different things.

17. I would absolutely love to see the political ad run by his opponent.
I would have a clip from the 90s of Gingrich touting family values and criticizing Clinton, followed by newspaper clippings of his disastrous personal life. That would just be a start.

8. AKA Newt Green-gooch. Real asshole, that guy. I'd like to see him defend his waste of taxpayer money

the GOP spent on the Clinton witch hunts, under his watchful eye.

Although, I must say, there are probably many who would vote for Newt over most other GOP potential candidates...Makes me sick just thinking about it.

My SIL thinks Newt is a fucking genius...

10. Ah, the "Family Values Candidate" checks in.
Who's going to campaign on "Fiscal Responsibility"? I'm thinking Mittens, the vulture capitalist.

18. He Comes Across as So Nasty
that I can't believe that the country would elect him.

But with all the really scary names being thrown around like Bachmann and Palin, he's not off the deep end. If a Republican gets elected by accident, Gingrich and Romney seem the most competent and least likely to completely destroy the county.
