Pat Robertson's clock has struck twice. I guess nothing more to see here
Edited on Thu Feb-06-14 01:54 AM by rpannier
Pat Robertson criticized the young earth creationists and it's belief that the earth is 6,000 years old, he even called it a joke on his TV show (Bill Nye vs Ken Ham). His explanation as to why evolution is true included 'evidence' like rock formations, dinosaurs, he even accepted the Big Bang was likely correct (though God was involved).

Pat Robertson has also accepted transgender, "I think there are men who are in a woman's body. It's very rare, but it's true there are women in men's bodies..."

They say a broken clock is right twice a day and I guess we know where Pat's clock is broken

1. If only Pat's sanity clock would strike once.....
Thanks for this, rpannier.

He seems to assume that only men are born in the wrong body.

You, know Pat, there is actually scientific stuff written about things like this. So, your musings need not be totally speculative.
BTW, Pat, why would an omnipotent loving, just God put some of us in the bodies that align fairly well with our sexual desires and/or self images, while randoming putting others in bodies that don't match theirs even a little?

And if he, in his unerring wisdom does choose to do that, why would he then also send things like hurricanes and tsunamis on everyone because of their acting in accordance with how he chose to make them?

Oh, Pat, one of us is very confused about such things, but only one of us can afford a TV station.

3. He said, "and women."
He is having a rough time balancing reality and strict biblical literalism. But I welcome his flexibility.

5. Coffee is essential.
Wish I could hand you a mug of fresh roasted French pressed. My coffee is wonderful.

2. I think Pat has seen the writing on the wall.
He sees value in moderating his stance on these issues. He recognizes the popularity of a Pope that has taken a liberal perspective on several issues.
