House GOP introduces 2 anti-abortion bills
House GOP introduces 2 anti-abortion bills

House Republicans turned their focus to abortion on Thursday, introducing two bills to ban federal funding for the procedure.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) called the measures necessary, even though President Barack Obama signed an executive order last year that bars federal funding for the procedure.

“Clearly, there is an awful lot of doubt as to where the administration really is on this issue,” Boehner said. “I think the will of the people is that we enact this clear-cut prohibition on the use of taxpayer funds for elective abortions.”

When asked about Democrats’ statements that the health care law is free of any funds for abortions, he said “They claim that it is.”

2. The same way banning things like smoking in bars, being able to pay cash for town services
Etc, it won't. But it does allow people to feel good and in control of others and their choices in life.

Your body, your choice - we either stand behind it and it's application to things other than abortion or we all lose.

Sadly, few people care about the philosophy/ideal they just care about it when it applies to them and something they do.

3. you missed my point.
the republicans said they were all about creating jobs, yet they do shit like this to appeal to their base and won't help anyone.

and get over the smoking in bars thing- if you want to smoke just go outside and do it. No one is stopping you from smoking.

4. Why doesn't the GOP
PROVE that the new Health Care Law funds abortions? I mean, they ARE the lawmakers, right? It shouldn't be hard for them to read the bill and show America that the President didn't actually sign an executive order barring federal funding for abortions.

Another absolute waste of MY tax dollars on stupid meaningless bills that will go nowhere, will be debated and proven worthless.

Oh well, at least the Democrats will have fun kicking them in the ass about this too. The republicans really are giving democrats great opportunities to make them look like fools so far - LOL.

WHERE ARE THE JOBS BONER?

8. Why don't the Dems do that? We need some Dems who have some backbone
to stand up to them on some of this stuff and stall all the preceedings not letting them do this stuff that doesn't make any sense and then make the Repubes explain themselves.

6. "Clearly, there is an awful lot of doubt as to where the administration really is on this issue,”
And---the reason is because of stupid statements like this. Put it out there and guess what happens?
