A bunch of MANY Freepers who were banned by Jimrob (mostly for questioning FR group-think) have formed other forums and former FR "insiders" are talking.

The conclusion by former FR fans and insiders is that the constant "Freepathons" for the never-improved FR are a grift (DUH!)

The Freepathons pay big salaries to not only JR. but his girlfriend and two sons.

It is GROSSLY mismanaged due to the fact that JR neglected to follow easy advice from his advisers and lawyer. FR's copyright infringement issues are not like DUs. DU had a case, they pursued it and won but FR cannot win because they were totally in the wrong on many occasions.

It seems that JR literally cannot grasp the concept of intellectual property and does not respect it and his "I'll do what I want dadburn it" attitude will probably cost him the site due to the heavy fines he has to pay and he is not being honest with the Freepers about any of that.

They are in SERIOUS shit and JR ignored many, many warnings and finds himself owing huge fines and he is not dealing with it at all.

He just keeps banning ("zotting") the more intelligent posters who would ask any questions re: the site and money and etc. so it's getting it down to the dumbest asskissers and then begging them for more and more money.

Hilariously he now is claiming it costs $92,000 per quarter to "run the site," and threatening to turn the lights out if they Freepers don't come up with it.

My theory is that one reason the site owner wants to let FR die is because he knows what kind of liability risk he runs by continuing to leave it up. Not just in terms of getting busted for copyright issues, but in terms of facing criminal charges for the crap he allows to be posted about public officials and private citizens. That's kind of why I think A Certain Other Website crashed and burned--the people who ran it didn't want to continue to risk serious legal trouble through its existence.
