Do you think that maybe Keith engineered his split in order to create
Edited on Sat Jan-22-11 02:11 PM by WCGreen
controversy so that Com Cast would be blamed for being evil and he would be branded the injured one.

Look I like Keith but he does have a tremendous anchor ego. To be good, I mean to be on the top, in that business you have to have a titanic ego.

I just don't buy it that Com Cast would purposely kill off a cash cow for purely ideological reasons.

It's kind of silly.

If GE, an arms manufacturing sleazy company could tolerate Keith, what makes you think Com Cast couldn't?

I just don't see a real controversy hear, especially with what Rachel said last night.

Of course she also has a stake in Keith leaving.

After all, she now becomes the highest profiled liberal on Cable TV...

6. I just watched it here...
ttp://www.businessinsider.com/rachel-maddow-responds-to-olbermanns-sudden-depature-2011-1

I think this whole ado is about something other than an ideological spat.

I think it is about massive ego's and showing who is the boss.

It's also about KO going out on a high note, looking like a rebel, which only enhances his internet cred.

5. I'm more inclined to believe his leaving has to do with Zucker
leaving & he was the one insisting on keeping Keith. There have been too many stories about Keith having many disagreements with his bosses to think at lleast some of tem are true. This kind of thing happens all the time when there's a change in senior mgmt. I've certainly seen it many times in the businesses I've been associated with.

8. But what were those arguments really about...
The more rumor of arguments the higher the ratings.

Look, in the long run it is a business and it is also a business full of outside ego's.

20. That and Comcast takeover. They will use what libs they have left while trying to
reign them in, meanwhile filling the gaps with propaganda.
KO knows who he is. He knows what he wants. His integrity and work ethic will carry him forward.
My hope is that this incident will create a clear path for "truth". If someone invests in that they will be a winner. People in the end are still hungry for truth.

15. Just to offer something different instead of seeing all the weeping and
and gnashing of teeth.

I'm sorry but I never have toed the line.

Look, I appreciate what he did, especially the Free clinic stuff.

I just got sick of the same old same old and the contrived outrage.

I just think that Keith probably had a hand in how this all went down.

I believe he wanted to slant this so he looked the victim. And it looks as if he has succeeded.

I think it was brilliant corporate exit on his part.

And since almost every news report mentions that Keith wanted more money, that is what fueled my thinking.

You are obviously putting your own spin on matters. Don't know why you are wasting the energy to do that.

I just stopped watching him every day plus the multiple clips on DU...

As far as the contrived outrage, it's my take on it.

Again, you can disagree if you want, no...

14. In a world based on ratings & revenue it doesn't make much sense, does it?
Given that they didn't fire all the lefties at once and revamp the channel's entire nighttime offerings. That's the classic radio station m.o. One fell sweep and welcome to the Country Music station as of right now!

I hear he can't go anywhere else until later this year. So his silence was purchased.

Your theory is worth noting, imo. KO isn't anybody's dope. If I recall right, his exit from Fox was a win for him. So we know he's had experience with those who manipulate the puppet strings from on high. He has to have been doing so figuring since his suspension.

16. And that is what it is, a theory...
I worked briefly in the radio industry back in the early 90's and I saw close and up front the ego's involved on both sides of the desk.

17. Actually I think what happen is comcast wants to get rid of liberals
just like other RWing driven companies and if they can't get their idiot followers to do it with a gun, they will do it with a pen. Comcast is evil, like Foxnews and has a clearcut agenda of doing away with the left.

21. The only problem with that take is NBC is a very conservative company...
They are in the Arms business, they are sowing their corporate greed throughout the world.

And remember, it's just a different take.

No one will really ever know what really went down.

support my theory that KO had a big hand in what went down and that ComCast wasn't involved...

I guess all your years of dealing with ComCast led you to the wrong conclusion.
