Forget Comcast..... You need to be blaming MSNBC TV |
|
Keith's contract was with MSNBC television .... under NBC News...... under NBC Universal...
Even though Comcast might eventually own 51% of NBC Universal - MSNBC is a very small asset.
Me thinks this has everything to do with the president of MSNBC television, Phil Griffin.

5. Thank you for the welcome! |
|
I have been a reader for a while but finally had to register so I could post. I spent 4 hours last night reading DU fromt he moment Keith said goodbye at 5:51pm PST until I saw the small news clip on Nightline at 12:05am PST.
As the other post said.... I'm sure Keith has been unhappy for a while and only came back after his enforced timeout in November because we insisted he come back (he said so in his goodbye.)
MSNBC Television is a very small small part of NBC Universal....

3. Griffin took over from Zucker? Not sure of facts, |
|
but if Griffin took over from Zucker BECAUSE of comcast deal, this stuff is at least indirectly related to comcast. Zucker protected Keith, who is/was too fiery/difficult for media types to get along with, and Griffin won't/didn't, I think.

American consumer is so easy to pull wool over eyes, we take on China now.
Have you never anticipated what a new boss's views would be and acted accordingly? :eyes:

I read an excellent blog post on www.thedailybeast.com and from that I'm thinking it was an ego war between KO and Griffin. It just doesn't make sense to cut your highest revenue producer loose.

10. AGREED - I own a business and hell no you don't lose |
|
the top dog that made Rachel and Lawrence possibilities and made your TV channel a contender in the cable news ratings race....
The only thing that makes that happen is personality conflict.... unable to work together....
