Entertainment, as simple as that. Frankly there is no news anymore on the idiot box just opinion of the news at best, and misreporting at worst

3. It's not about Entertainment, it's about business and profit, which is why this is
so perplexing -- he was their highest rated show.

4. He was also almost certainly their highest-paid on-air figure.
And his ratings were only high compared to other people on MSNBC. He was pulling in less than a half-million viewers in the core advertising demo.

6. That's kind of sad -- there are shurly more progressives who should be tuning
in. In one article it said that he's primarily the reason MSNBC edged past CNN. So do you think it was a money thing? He was making too much for what he was bringing in? I kind of got the impression it was essentially an ego war.

5. HA! Johnny Carson- Fred Silverman. It's not Entertainment. It's Show Biz. Like no business I know.

The Tonight Show generated an obscene amount of NBC pre tax profits during that kurfful. That was a clash of egos.

This was a clash of content and egos.

And you don't know what type of deal was cut. The use of the adverb "extremely" portrays ignorance of what type of money we are dealing with here. $14mil is chicken feed.

KO would have to have a really bad attorney and agent to accept that without other conditions.

I refer to my other more detailed posts about Tom Snyder and Tom or Mike Capra, I can never remember the scion of the Frank Capra name, when Tom laughed in his face about suspending him.

Essentially, after being told he was suspended he told his news director that he was gonna call his attorney, Hookstratten, and ..... see you tomorrow.

I saw the broadcast in question, and and I did see him tomorrow. I didn't hear the story until years later and did not confirm the story until I met a teacher in Santa Monica with a brother who was an attorney named Hookstratten.

So we don't know if KO has a good contract or attorney or agent. That is show biz.

There's no people like show people

They smile when they are low......
