May SCOTUS justices disregard ethical standards which all other members of the |
|
judiciary must follow?
If other judges falsify their income for years, refuse to disqualify themselves from obvious conflicts of interest or openly engage in partisan political activity, they are subject to disciplinary sanctions ranging from "censure" to "clean out your desk".
Do Slappy and Fat Tony answer to anyone?

3. Those rules do not apply to the SCOTUS. I have no idea why, but |
|
I've had that confirmed by a number of people, including Norm Goldman on his radio show.

Impeachment by the House and conviction by the Senate is the only route. The Supreme Court makes the rules for the federal judiciary. There is no higher authority to go to if a Justice refuses to recuse him- or herself. No other branch can interfere short of impeachment or constitutional amendment.

answer only to the beat of their own drummers, all because there will never be enough votes to impeach, then convict, no matter how egregious any alleged offenses. ;)
