2. The grand irony is

That if they did share and play by the rules, there would bee oodles more money in the system coming to them. Their 50x would be close to the amount of the current 500x, I think.

There's a problem with that, though- if people make close to what they do, there won't be the power, privilege and freedom from laws that they now enjoy. They wouldn't be "special."

That's what they aren't giving up, really. Places at the table for us. The table has to stay small, and we have to be happy with the scraps.
