Thanks to my friends here - update to recent issues

[The Straight Story]

My sister in law was getting better and was in a step down unit, but this morning at 4am she was taken back into surgery - this is from my brother to his friends on FB:

Need prayers for my wife. She took a turn for the worse. Emergency surgery again this morning. She is in intensive care. Doctor says all went well but a long recovery ahead. Her lung function is biggest worry at this time. Thanks.

re: my son - he is doing well and has left Kuwait for Iraq, he had a long flight and misses his wife and kids and they miss him a ton. His kids (4/3/a few months old) are upset and missing daddy but holding up ok - I talk to his wife daily and she is a really strong lady and dealing the best she can with handling the kids and missing her husband.

Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers - they actually have helped his wife and I a lot (I sent her the thread from before). My daughter in law and I are trying to come up with a song and video a day to post to my son. We know he won't see them everyday, but we want him to know we are here for him (and I try to send her something each day as well since she is having a hard time as well).

If you have some funny videos, nice songs, etc, pass em along. I know my problems and those of my family may not impact you and your life - but I know from experience here that DU'ers have something the right does not: empathy.

You may not realize it, but the kind things you say to others in times of need do make a difference - it makes people feel less alone (and shame on me for not doing more in that regards here).

Thanks again for listening to me, most my friends have passed on and sometimes DU is just the place I need to get stuff out of my system.
