into the grave as life passes them by and groups wage grievances against each other in political rhetoric and others hatred for those not just like them. True, many countries have this but at one time I thought we were moving beyond that. If individuals fail, then the country fails. This, IMO, is why the US is down quite a bit on the happiness scale compared to other countries when one looks at "What Americans Think."

but it's sure not what their governments think. Across the board and across the continent governments are on the 'austerity' bandwagon, and this includes so-called socialists who have been assimilated.

I don't necessarily believe that Americans believe that crap either, but our ruling class does and their voice drowns all else out.
