I dream of one day watching you again.
I refuse to watch the rw sycophant networks and now that m$nbc is officially a tool of the rw...it can battle for the miscreants that suck down the gruel that faux and cnn regurgitate.

I hope they fail. I hope they fail miserably.

Silencing dissent is a hallmark of fascism.

No need to ask "are we there yet?"...because we are in the front row seats.

1. You are going to 'punish' their careers because Keith quit?

9. Hey. I listen to Randi and she is on Rush's RW radio network.
I need the truth even when it is put through a gauntlet.

10. It's not "punishing" their careers
but I am not going to support a fascist network that silences progressives. What makes you think they aren't next anyway?

"silencing progressives".

support ed or rachel, this would be their extended reason to silence all progressives.

7. Oh, heck, I'll now be watching Rachel every night
instead of Keith. I'm not willing to devote two solid hours each night to the news, and there's always been a lot of overlap between the two. So now it's Rachel.

12. Well I certainly they hope they don't fail, MSNBC would
like nothing better than to have the excuse of low ratings to cancel Ed, Rachel, O'Donnell and Cenk. I know I'm not going to play into their hands by helping them!

13. I will watch MSNBC
until they dismiss all progressives-

Why are you giving up because one person is gone - we need to support the remaining progressives. They need the audience. If you don't watch them, yes, they will be gone. Is this what you want? Are Progressives quitters? Sounds like a Sarah thing to me.

14. They'll use that excuse anyway.
High ratings didn't stop 'em from firing Phil Donohue. It didn't stop them from suspending Keith or from firing him.

Watching their phony liberalism is playing into their hands.

16. You make a good point but still I need to hear
some progressives. If ratings don't matter and MSNBC will get rid of them regardless than they are an endangered species and their time is short ... so I'll watch while I still can.

17. Well,
I will support the station while the other progressives are on. No way am I going to dupe those I listen to on a daily basis.

I don't care what they might do but the support is necessary. I don't care what happened in the past. I care about now, today! I care what will be on the air tomorrow.

So, what aare you going to do if you don't watch our friends? Go to the dark side?

23. I can't help but think there was some Rumsfeld/Cheney pressure to do away
with Phil Donahue's exit. They couldn't have people telling the truth about Iraq now, could they?

Soon after the show's cancellation AllYourTV.com reported it had received a copy of an internal NBC memo that stated Donahue should be fired because he would be a "difficult public face for NBC in a time of war"

not to replace the hole that Keith will leave, but program wise they should of put Big Ed at Keith's time :-( and kept Lawrence O'Donnell at his scheduled time. But I will be watching Rachel tonite, and if I can stay awake I will be watching Ed.

22. You're going to hurt the the only progressive voice in television -- We need MSNBC
and if people quit viewing and ratings plummet, so long advertising dollars.

THEN what will you do? And what will WE do

I learn too much from the various hosts and guests on that channel to punish MYSELF just to make a statement.

So please think of the rest of us. It's not all about you.

26. Here is a thought
I wonder if Oprah who just bought a cable station is going to give voices to progressives or Obama people? Just a thought. She did get involved in politics before but ironcially she did buy the station when Obama will be running again. Any thoughts here? Am I too wrong?

we need to support progressive voices or they will disappear. as it is, we're f*cked for the next 2 years and further if we cannot keep it together. kinda makes me glad i'm old.

Rachel was a favorite of mine before she knew Keith. If her show maintains its integrity, I'll continue to watch it.

30. I agree. You can not reward this type of behavior it only encourages them.
If MSNBC fails b/c of this another left-leaning network will emerge b/c the TV industry has seen a successful template. Phil Griffin piggy-backed KO to build that shitty network into the #2 cable news channel and then got rid of him when he thought he could coast along on the foundation that KO established.

You can podcast Rachel (commercial free) and listen to Big Ed on the radio (and Internet). I would love to see MSNBC/Comcast/Griffin fail and watch that squint-eyed bully Joe and his side-kick have to acknowledge that they owe their jobs to KO.
