A New War on Women from Kansas Forced-Birthers
Daily Kos, via AlterNet:

A New War on Women from Kansas Forced-Birthers

A new year, a new governor, a new war on women and their doctors in Kansas:

Filling a request from Gov. Sam Brownback, a coalition of Kansas House conservatives filed legislation on Wednesday to tighten state regulations on abortion.

The bill would change Kansas law to require parental consent for teenagers to get abortions and increase reporting requirements by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. It also would give the attorney general and county prosecutors’ access to state health reports on abortions performed in the state.

Rep. Lance Kinzer, an Olathe Republican, said that the bill also contained late-term abortion provisions vetoed over the past three years by Democratic Govs. Kathleen Sebelius and Mark Parkinson.

It's not as if Kansas is currently a safe haven for women seeking to exercise their right to obtain a legal medical procedure. Kansas already requires parental notice for minors. It already requires a 24-hour waiting period. It already requires that doctors encourage their patients to undergo completely unnecessary ultrasounds. It already requires that doctors lie to their patients about the so-called link between breast cancer and abortion. (Hint: there is none.) It already protects medical providers who refuse to provide abortion services or information to patients. ...........(more)

1. and, then they tell the unwanted child
to pull himself or herself up by their bootstraps like George W. Bush and the Walton kids did.

2. Oh just wait,
it is just getting started. Lance Kinzer can kiss my ass. What a slime ball.

However, we have a nice little surprise for the Gov and his new "Office of the Repealer" today. Oh yes, this will be fun. More later, need to be very quiet until I know the deed is done :)

3. I can't help but wonder
if the "pro-life" folk are willing to open their hearts and their homes to the unwanted children. Are they willing to adopt them?

4. I used to ask my parents that.
I would pretend to look around their house for the unwanted children they had adopted. I would look especially for the physically and mentally handicapped, the mixed race rather than the lily white, the children born to drug addicted parents. Then I would ask them if they were letting any young women board with them while they waited to give birth and get back on their feet with job training and jobs.

I seldom visit my parents any more at their home.

5. No, no, they want guaranteed jobs in SaintCo, a.k.a. Faith-based initiatives, taking "care" of
our rejects and, then, driving home to their 3K+ sq ft, climate perfectly controlled, houses, in one or the other of their SUVs. AND they want to replicate their business models, including ALL of their overhead, over and over ad infinitum, "in the name of the Lord", of course.

9. Semantic quibble. Not "new war". Same old war, same army,
same weapons with modern updates.

New battlefield. New front.

Same war; continuing the millennial war against "feminine."
