1. I believe it's most
Comparable to Sprint - for some reason I recall they are reselling Sprint's wholesale services.

2. Right -- CREDO is an MVNO: Mobile Virtual Network Operator.
They resell Sprint so their network performance, choice
of phones, and the like is basically identical with Sprint's.

3. They have a completely antediluvian message plan.
No unlimited text option, which is waaaaaay too 2003 for me.

9. Yup.
They have added more in the way of texting and web services in the past several months. I'm glad to see them trying to be as comprehensive in their services as their right-wing-donating competitors. :)

5. Yes. My Credo Droid is more reliable & w/better coverage/svc than my boyfriend's ATT iPhone.
Been with Credo (FKA Working Assets) since the Clinton Administration. :)

6. I've used Credo for about a year now and have found the coverage to
Edited on Mon Jan-24-11 02:08 PM by beac
be the same as any other provider (I've had Sprint, T-Mobile, USCellular & Verizon in the past.)

As far as the person who said they do not offer unlimited texting, that just isn't true. They have both individual and family unlimited text plans. They also have a plan with 300 texts for $4.99 a month. I can't see why anyone who's not a teenager would need to send more than 10 texts per day (if not using the phone for business and presumably being reimbursed for such by their company), but I may be old-fashioned in that regard.

Anyway, I have been very satisfied with CREDO and like that my fees aren't supporting the GOP and other right-wing organizations. if you have to have a cell phone, why not have one that gives its profits to progressive causes?

I am assuming you know that they will buy you out of your existing contract, right?

ETA: I used to use their "Working Assets" long distance service when I had a landline and was very satified with that service too. And I would have switched my cell sooner, but they only just added my area to their service about a year ago, though I think they are pretty much nationwide now.

10. Credo
I love my Credo - I do like they keep me updated on issues and I like that some of my money goes to progressive causes. Credo is GREAT!

12. Credo again
Just check your Verizon bill --- you are paying for their taxes they owe. I could not believe the amount of taxes I was paying and the different fees. They actually wanted to rip me off. Now that I have Credo this does not happen. I have better service from Credo

15. Thank you very much. I have an incredibly inexpensive plan now from ATT.
But ATT told us that they were upgrading services in our area and our plan disintegrates. They offered a cheap-ass "free" phone if we take another plan.

Credo offers better "free" phones depending on the plan.

17. There is also a 10% off for 2 years deal that they are running right now:

Credo does change their plans from time to time, but they have (so far) never forced me to change plans and I can keep the deal I have, even if they no longer offer it to new customers, as long as I don't decide to change my plan myself (i.e. go to a higher minute plan.)

Their Customer Service has also been very responsive when I have had a problem (one of our original phones had a glitch after two months and they replaced it at no charge-- not even shipping.)

11. Credo is great!
Been with them 5, 6 years, never a hiccup.

Had AT&T before that. It's a great feeling, knowing my money isn't going to the "death star!"
