A deal that would NEVER be made
Social Security numbers were NEVER supposed to be used as a database--but, that was only one of the first promises that would be broken.

Now, the other promise of a little bit of income when you retire is going to be negotiated away until it is broken.

I have to wonder if...the promise that was Social Security was to go away, will they also eliminate the numbers that went with it?

I don't believe so. But they should.

1. What? Eliminate the closest thing they have to a National ID Card?
I would be very very surprised. Rather they will make them "smart" and we'll be expected to carry around chips, like some of the new driver's licenses.
