"One day after securing a huge deal with China...
...Boeing Lays Off 1000 American Workers"

http://www.businessinsider.com/boeing-layoffs-orange-county-2011-1

"...The move comes just a day after Boeing agreed to a $19 billion deal with China to produce 200 airplanes for the country.

The layoffs affect workers in the company's Long Beach, Anaheim, and Huntington Beach facilities. The bulk of the layoffs will occur in Long Beach, where 900 will lose their jobs..."

The rest of the time they're too busy arguing about Olberman. BTW, China is a ponzi scheme. When it goes down, these US companies will be fucked in the aftermath.

5. HH, a free press is a necessity for democracy to function

Olbermann is one of the last vestiges of true-telling journalism left on the tube. His leaving is important for that reason. And I do not believe this is an either/or situation---integrity on the airwaves vs. corporate sell-outs?

This place was angry as hell last Friday night and I was one of them. But I think DUers care about many issues. What do you want us to say? I remember great rants in '07 - '10 about about the job losses. Your reprimanding us is not fair.

And I've written numerous letters and signed more petitions to my senators, GOP congresshit, and to the WH demanding they stop the blood letting called off shoring jobs.

Obama gets kicked in the teeth at least twice a day on the greatest page here for letting this happen. We know who he is now, a person who has gotten some great legislation passed yet who is still marching in the footsteps of his predecessors. Wars, off shoring, etc. Things which are choking this once great nation.

China is a ponzi scheme? The U.S. govt. now owes China close to .9 Trillion, yet you're telling us that China is the one running a ponzi scheme. Please explain. You probably have a different prospective living in Beijing.

I'll listen to you.

Btw, I recently spent a month in China.

6. The point I'm making is

How often I see actual stories that matter on this website SINK as people argue about stupid shit like Olbermann. They are arguing about the messenger instead of the message. I know it's hard to believe, but 1,000 jobs lost in California is actually more important than Olbermann. The issues are what's important, and you can always find out what the issues are and having someone like Kieth give his opinion on them makes people lazy, cause they feel like someone else is doing it.

So, as merely five people respond to what should be an outrageous story, they are arguing about a five day old story.... and the world spins on.....

As for the ponzi scheme, this place is nothing more than all the glamour projects that sit empty afterward. It's waiting to collapse.

8. Got ya.
Rather like Dubai, uh?

How is it that they have the capital to finance us?

Every thing we buy here is made in China. Now, one of the few things we had left, the airplane industry, to flying out to China.

S it says, China is mostly speculation. It's true. So much of the ccountry runs this way. They build first and wait for them to come. There's so many empty malls in this country it's not even funny. Often projects are set up to look good, but are just meant to suck some money from investors quick time.

Also, as a member of the media, I'm fully aware of the role the press has in democracy.
