1. There are several issues that divide voters into polarized groups and for which no compromise seems
possible, .e.g. abortion, gays, guns, capital punishment.

RKBA is one such issue and although the law of the land is that law-abiding citizens have the right to keep and bear arms for self-defense, those who would prohibit that unalienable/inalienable right continue to fight to impose their opinion on the majority who support RKBA.

In like fashion, the anti-abortion minority who oppose abortion , like the anti-RKBA minority, continue to fight to impose their opinion on the majority.

IMO the majority of voters support GLBT rights however, the anti-GLBT minority, like the anti-RKBA minority and anti-abortion minority, continue to fight to impose their opinion on the majority.

Interesting question is how can one find a compromise between proponents of the majority and minority opposition represented by anti-RKBA, anti-abortion, and anti-GLBT groups, and anti-capital punishment.

It's also interesting to note that some people may be in one or two of those minority anti groups and not in the others.

IMO a true progressive values all natural, inherent, inalienable/unalienable INDIVIDUAL rights and does not identify with any of those four "anti" groups.

3. So now one person horribly abuses abortions????
I don't see the similarity. I get the point, but the comparison is simply idiotic.

5. You do know that nit wits claimed from the very day
R V W passed that abortions were being abused as a form of birth control? I remember in the 80's the nit wits claimed they knew women that had 20 or 30 abortions that the tax payer paid for. I guess you missed the right to life people ran stories on their web page in 2004, stating that in LA they found a dumpster filled with black babies behind the planned parent hood building! Why that was proof that black women on welfare were using abortion as BC and gasp gasp welfare paid for those abortions, the nit wits ate it up then posted links to the story that proved beyond a doubt that abortion rights were being abused to kill black people on blogs.

The nit wits heads exploded when I posted back that there were no pictures, photo or video, about their great discovery so therefore I questioned RTL honesty, well they claimed in the story that there were thousands of black babies in the dumpster so it stands to reason that one of the RTL nit wits would have taken at least 1 picture of said dumpster. So yes their is a comparison in the toon.

Swift reaction by Corbett, Pa. lawmakers to abortion-clinic horror

By Amy Worden
Inquirer Harrisburg Bureau
HARRISBURG - From the governor's office to legislative chambers, calls are mounting for answers about why state officials failed to detect or stop the allegedly murderous activities at a Philadelphia abortion clinic as detailed last week in a grand jury report.
Gov. Corbett, in only his second week in office, and leaders of the General Assembly are moving swiftly to try to prevent future criminal acts akin to those alleged in the report, the result of a yearlong investigation by Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams' office. Legislators are calling for hearings.

Corbett has ordered secretaries of the Departments of Health and State to review the 260-page report that charged a doctor with eight counts of murder. The governor directed both cabinet members to send him recommendations about how to improve agency oversight of health facilities.

"He thought what happened was horrific," said Corbett spokeswoman Janet Kelly. "He has asked them to look at the situation and get back to him with recommendations on how to change the system."

This has the anti-choice folks up in arms, just like the AZ shootings have the gun control folks activated.

8. Yep I sure did miss that one, but then again it appears to be more of a story
about medical malpractice, which the R's are going to try to politic on because it involves abortion. In the end the R's will propose a BS law that will do little or nothing. What caused this was deregulation as no inspections were done by the state on the clinic since 1993.
