Maybe the nonsense Bachmann spews is not so much the product of her own stupidty and insanity as it is a deliberate path towards a successful political career in this era of teabagger ignorance and the corporate interests behind the movement.

9. This country is indeed in trouble ... |

... when ignorant demagogues like Bachmann & Palin are elevated to national prominence with presidential aspirations.
Do Glenn Beck's millions of viewers tune in to laugh at his lunacy, or do most of them believe he is a courageous defender of Amercan freedom?

3. republicans are quite successful ignoring reality and simply repeating talking points. |
|
given the current state of the media, punditry, campaign financing, and so on, it works. at least it works for republicans.
it's sick, but it works.
i wish we had a more effective parry for such tactics, because simply noting that it's nuts may be accurate but it's also quite ineffective and may even be counter-productive. crazy makes headlines, headlines make votes.

The Repubs like to say that Dems grow Gov't, when in fact during the Bush Admin, where they basically got their way for 8 years, Gov't expanded beyond anyone's wildest dreams.
The Repubs like to say that Dems waste money, yet they favor gov't bailouts of private industries and tax cuts for people who don't need it.
My favorite- "Tax and spend Liberals!" Would we prefer "Mortgage our future to China for more wars"?
Obama was really good at this when he was campaigning. Too bad he made friends with them and now we can't talk about this stuff, because we're "Looking forward."

The usual empty rhetoric from Bachmann. She seems to think that talking is doing. She will not come close to getting anything done.
