From Obama's mouth: The worst of the recession is over... Now is the time for pain.
"But now that the worst of the recession is over, we have to confront the fact that our government spends more than it takes in. That is not sustainable. Every day, families sacrifice to live within their means. They deserve a government that does the same."

Who hurts when corporations hoard their profits and make their investments in foreign markets?
Who hurts when their are few good jobs and the government starts cutting?

I gotta tell you, it isn't the people calling the shots.

Lowering corporate tax rates? C'mon!

4. If I hear the words "tightening our belts" tonight I'm going to scream.
My belt is so tight it has become a noose.

5. From just those words what I hear is that the rich are getting richer
again and now we are going to make cuts. So now I want him who is going to get these cuts. The middle class and the poor or the pentagon and the rich?

7. So let me get this straight: "WE BROKE THE BACK OF THE RECESSION!" and now "We must cut everything!"
Don't worry, with the universal set-top box that will no doubt be pushed by Comcast-NBC, eliminating broadcast and radio and bringing you TV and Internet on one device, Americans will be better educated than ever before about why we have to SACRIFICE for our children to afford enough of a private education to "compete" in the oh-so-educated global workforce.

I live in what was once one of the most liberal cities in the country, home to Dem policymakers and such, and our Mayor wants to close down the local library (books and newspapers no longer needed with a universal set-top box, right?) because the state and county (Blue) won't pay for it, given the exigent circumstances of the WONDROUS booming economy.

10. The government needs to 'sacrifice' its corporate support
By taxing productive economic activity fairly with a reasonable corporate income and capital gains tax

And by taxing unproductive economic activity out of existence.

And by confiscating and selling off the property of lawbreaking corporations.

And by cutting back useless 'security' spending boondoggles, like the utterly failed TSA.
