9. Obviously I have noticed. That said, that crap about "become |

teachers" made me sick at that moment. I turned it off and put on a DVD...I have no more use for this shit.

|
he's throwing out the teachers with the bath water, and starting all over.
I don't know what to think. How about retraining people that still need jobs?

What we need are more newbies in programs like Teach for America, so we can drive down wages and lock experienced and dedicated educators out of the market.

Every year we get more students, fewer teachers, less time, higher benchmarks, increasingly impoverished students, angrier administrators.
But Obama said we should think of teachers as "nation builders." I feel sooooooo much better!

I interviewed once at an elite prep school (James Baker's alma mater) and the kids there, in classes of ten or fewer, sitting around oak tables, discussed the great books.
None of this Scantron "learning" for them, nosiree.

24. That was bizarre. Teachers are being RIF'ed and laid off across the country. |
|
There aren't any teaching jobs out there, really. Unless, of course, you're a TFA'er that can replace a more experienced, higher salaried teacher... In that case, yeah, you might have a shot.
