10. Really? It's been two years, and not a civil liberty restored, and more power to the corporations.
They make money off of war.

It's all about the money. What's not to get?

20. That part I get
And I'm in the same zone.

I'm talking specifically about that statement and the Solomon Amendment.
There was already a huge fight about this and the Solomon Amendment requires colleges to do that or risk federal funding, including financial aid students receive.
Most colleges knuckled under because of that and he would know that. So why bash colleges for something99.99999 of them are already doing at peril of the colleges and students losing their funding?

9. The Noam Chomskys won't like it, but tough
Once DADT stops being enforced, the military should be welcomed to campuses. Let the kids decide if they want to enlist or not.

43. Well I will say this
Whatever college they go to (I had heard that Malia was a Yale fan) should allow military recruiters and ROTC on campus so that they can at least be asked to consider serving after college. If they are not interested fine; being an adult is about being offered choices and having the free will to say yes or no.

If you are a student and you don't want to enlist you are free to walk right by the recruiters table in the student center.

23. Oh please. They target the poor that don't have many options,
they blow smoke up the asses of KIDS. These are 15-18 year old kids. They lie to them and make them believe they won't see combat and all will be paid for. They also do more than sit at a table. They are like fucking evangelists who prey on those in vulnerable positions.

42. You may have a point, but we are talking about college students--adults
15-18 year olds are in high school, and yes the recruiters there need to be strictly monitored.

But on college campuses, where a smaller proportion of the students are poor than in a high school, we are talking about adults.

Normally the Commander in Chief is supportive of the notion of an educated officer corps.

which already mandates much of that and with which colleges must comply or lose funding.

Look on most college and university sites and 99.9999 % have been forced (at threat of loss of funding) to comply.

Double wow.

Some, like my husband went to OCS after college and others gained skills that they have made careers out of instead of going to college. I have nothing against the military. I have close relatives overseas now. Being a Democrat does not mean you have to hate the military.
