Let's review what the "sell out" President talked about...
...support for the DREAM Act and responsible Immigration reform

...support for DADT repeal

...support for eliminating oil subsidies

...support for eliminating tax cuts for the top 2%

...support for infrastructure spending

...support for the Health Care bill

...beginning to withdraw our troops from Afghanistan

certainly says "Republican" to me

7. Why are you pointing to the obvious. These complainers were reading his body language and
somehow they were able to deduce he didn't mean what he was saying. They are looking for something to attack.

13. He mentioned nothing in the way of initiatives, programs, or substance.
The only things he really said is the economic status quo will be uncontested and we need to do some things to be competitive but we are going to spend any money.

What his speech said is he embraces the systemic status quo.

9. I'm really not even hung up on what he talked about
or how democrat/republican he sounded. I won't really care until these things are actually done. There's not much original content in the SOTU. I don't know why people are flipping out over it.

10. I think a lot of the posters complaining about the speech had
already decided what the speech was going to "prove" to them way before they listened to it.

Pointing out facts about the content of the speech won't keep them from doing what they love.

17. Most of this talk was a part of the campaign speeches
starting four years ago. And with the backing of a Dem congress.

I'll applaud when a good bullet-point is put into action.

A Speech is just a speech. Only actions are deserving of praise.

21. Didn't he just sign into law...
...an extension of all tax cuts for the top 2%? Right after freezing the pay of federal workers and right before giving a SOTU speech about how we all need to sacrifice?

24. my only negative is I thought he would push more what he did
He has been president for 2 years now and had one of the most productive congresses the past two years. You'd think he could have sold the actual Obama agenda better by really focusing on what he did. Instead there was a lot of fluff to hide words and his productivity in. That works a lot of the time for him. It's great for a 1st year president. Me I could have used less rhetoric and more substance. I did this, I want to do this, I will do it with both parties or America will sit in neutral for two years, I will not go back to the country I started as president in. I never heard a president worse at selling what he's done than Obama. He always makes things seem like far of dreams... even the stuff he already did.
