Gergen: educating our kids in math and science isn't about compassion.
That blockhead Ari Fleischer thinks educating kids is something that can be sacrificed. What a moron.

1. Ari isn't talking about sacrificing the educations of all kids
Just poor and middle class kids.

2. Poor and middle class kids grow up to be more productive or less productive adults.
Damn even some of our so called leaders have no clue.

3. The neocon plan for America doesn't require productive adults
We are supposed to get all our income by owning and controlling the world's intellectual property, and the only 'workers' we need are service workers. If the cash register button says "Big Mac", and the register computes change, you don't need to be able to add or subtract.

And if you don't fit into the plan, well, just keep your cardboard box and shopping cart out of sight.

5. I got distracted as I was reading your post...
and for an instant I had to re-read to make sure Ari wasn't sacrificing children in the schools.

(if you must know, I was distracted by the topless Ukraine women protest thread )

7. It is not in their best interest
to have an educated populace. It's much easier to control the ignorant.
