What do Republicans and some Legal Immigrants have in common?
They both are not emotionally invested enough in this country to want to pay their taxes.

Had a few conversations with Cuban Americans to see this disconnect.

3. Yeah, it's a stupid question.
Cuban Americans have found cover in the Republican folds.

2. Nothing quite like anecdotal broad brushes to start the day
Got any knee-slappers about drunken Irishmen or miserly persons of Hebraic origins?

4. Listen,
I have relatives in Miami. One of them thinks her son may be gay. She's coming to me for help. Not because she would disown him, but because she wants him out of Miami if that's the case since the culture they live in (the relatives) are extremely closed minded.

I also had debates with her relatives (in-laws) and was shocked to see there is no difference between them and Libertarians. Or Tea Baggers. That's when it occurred to me that they want to hold onto their money for reasons different than the Republicans.

5. Listen,
Coming off sounding like you're lecturing people with high-minded tones while engaging in ethnic humor-based diatribes is self-contradicting.

It would be wrong to make cracks like that about Muslims. It would be distasteful in the extreme to pillory urban hip-hop culture as the reason for urban blight. It would be in extremely poor taste broadbrush ethnic groups as lazy or drunken or under-endowed or anything else.

Personally, I'm at a loss as to how political affiliation suddenly makes ethnic bigotry fashionable.

6. Where did I broadbrush?
Show me where I said this applied to all immigrants? What I said was, it applied to some immigrants. And the statement still stands. There are a lot of immigrants who come here incredibly thankful for the opportunity and willing to do their share. But there are others who have done a wonderful job of embracing the worst of Republican values, and not for the reasons that the Republicans think they're espousing. I think it's a tremendous irony that Republican's goal to fight for lower taxes, actually does more to make it easier for the very people they claim need to do more to show their allegiance to this country. It's amusing, actually.

7. You seem to be calling out Cuban Americans
Maybe it's just me but that's what I seem to have read.

8. You asked for my personal experiences.
Ideas crop up from personal experiences. I think you'll find that statistics will show that a majority of Cuban Americans side with Republicans. That would be a fact.

What you don't know is what it's like to actually talk to them and debate. It's worse than getting into a conversation with Tea Baggers and Libertarians.

9. I don't remember asking for personal experience
I wondered why ethnic bashing was OK based solely on political affiliation.

Got any good Muslim jokes? I hear they aren't very politically fashionable these days so I'm sure it must be OK.

10. What you called it was anecdotal broadbrushing.
So, yes, you were putting my experiences in question.

It's not ethnic bashing to point out that Republicans want to reduce and possibly, eliminate taxes in order to reduce the effectiveness of government.

It's not ethnic bashing to point out that most Cuban American (especially in the Miami area) side with Republican policies.

It's not ethnic bashing to say that those I know are worse than teabaggers when it comes to their desire not to pay taxes.

Where is the ethnic bashing?

I think you're getting too PC on this issue and are, therefore, unable to see the irony of how Republicans are feeding their own problems.
