Christine O'Donnell Bashes Obama's 'Hypocritical' State Of The Union Address

Former GOP Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell announced Wednesday that she was unimpressed with President Obama's State of the Union address, calling it "hypocritical" and accusing him of co-opting the Tea Party's message of fiscal conservatism to push an agenda of bigger spending.

"Those catch phrases sounded familiar because he took them right from Tea Party candidates," O'Donnell claimed on ABC News's "Good Morning America" of Obama's rhetoric on fiscal austerity. "He used Tea Party sound bites to announce more big government spending programs."

1. That's pretty funny...
I've been saying all along that the TeaBaggers took from us! If you break the issues out of the rhetoric, they really do want most of the same things we do.

9. If there isn't clearer evidence that the corporate media world isn't actively
trying to keep the 'baggers all worked up and on the front page, I don't know what it would be. This woman is not doing anything now that is newsworthy...not running for anything, not holding office, doesn't even have a reality teevee show. Gack.

I might as well ask for the opinion from random people walking down the street - if anything, they probably have contributed more to society than this bubblehead.

16. Actually, Obama was co-opting Bill Clinton's fiscal conservatism
Edited on Wed Jan-26-11 12:05 PM by JaneQPublic
Clinton is the only president in recent history to leave office with a budget surplus. None of the GOPers ever did that, despite their giving lip service to fiscal conservatism.

Hell, when GWBush was in office, he turned Clinton's surplus into record debt, but so-colled budget hawks like Christine didn't go on TV to complain then. In fact, their hero, Dick Cheney, said deficits didn't matter. I don't remember any Repubs taking the Big Dick to task for that statement.

20. Because George Snuffaluppagus wanted to hear what she was going to say.
It was amusing to see that she was the only one that took herself seriously.

Donna Brazille represented the "Democrats" side and she was very nice to Christine. She didn't just bust out and laugh right in her face everytime Christine said something.

35. O'Donnell's idea of a state of union speech:
"Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and howlet's wing,--
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble."
