Most of us here put it together ages ago. Being around quite a diverse crowd, I am starting to notice a big change. We are all getting fucked, and people are starting to get it.
This divide and conquer bullshit worked pretty well for the elite, but its falling apart.
Come on America, lets get it together!:)

WE outnumber them. They did it successfully in South America. They have given us the Blueprint for "change'.

70. The worst thing US working people did was buy the "Middle Class" label. |
|
The Middle Class do not join unions and the Middle Class vote Republican. When US working people accepted that label they lost sight of who they were. They were never Middle Class! But they were the most affluent working class the world has ever seen. Once they lost sight of their true identity the Republicans could con them into their own destruction.

There are exceptions, but the Repuke tactic using false consciousness and the idea that someday we too will be wealthy actually did work.
I do agree with your concern but I think we have to recognize and work to change how people think about where they are on the economic strata.

78. You have it exactly right. All the different groups are NOT working together.. it is all so inbred. |
|
That is why I focus solely on poverty -- it is not "popular", and poor folk don't have advocates like other groups.
I used to be involved with a lot of different efforts, but somehow everyone started to go their own way, and forget our need to be united.
When environmentalists and peace people can come together with poor people, and gays can also work with other causes, then we will have a chance.
Until then,....................we're fucked.

Not Right v Left, Democrat v Republican, or Conservative v Liberal.
It's Haves v Have-nots, the Powerful v the Weak, the Few v the Many.
But the many can carry more pitchforks than the few. We control consumption, we control production, we can control the street and decide who is safe walking there and who is not.
We just have to stop letting the control us with fear, nationalism, patriotism and bullshit.
We are many, they are few.

He doesn't get mentioned here very often, but I got the chance to see his impassioned speech opposing the tax cuts, and I was very, very impressed.
Bennet (my other senator), as usual, is an idiot for not helping the people. He loves to screw people out of their own money.

74. I called Mark Udall's office and asked for him to support Bernie, and got |

....well, lukewarm would be the best description.
Mark, unlike his brother Tom in New Mexico, is NOT supportive of single-payer health care.
Health Care For All Colorado tried for years to talk to him about it, but he turned them away.
Yes, one good vote is one good vote.
But over all, he is another disappointment.

He's usually a POS (one of mine) but he said, last month, that he believes we need to offset costs but, at this point, he couldn't vote against extending UI benefits when unemployment in our state is over 14%.

63. i will say most politicians disappoint after being elected but not gillibrand |
|
she has continued to meet and exceed my expectations. paterson (guided by schumer) did a GREAT job selecting her for office and NY did a great job electing her

68. I'snt your list lacking t2wo names..? |
|
Michigan's Carl Levin.. He voted against the compromise. Not so sure about his position on cloture... Along with Ohio's Sen. Voinvoich.. R-Ohio... Voinvoich is liberated , being he's not returning next year.. He choose not to run.. Not being a senator is liberating.. Allows one to think freely and for themselves.. Wish we could say that about Ohio's next senator, Rob Portman.. But, that guy's a Wall Street clown. I meant clone. ..

75. Standing up for average Americans |
|
by attempting to block tax cuts that benefit average Americans. Or, are we supposed to hate the top 2 percent so much, that we are willing to throw the other 98 percent under the bus?

80. Because this "tax Cut" is going to end up hurting those making UNDER $40,000 |
|
They are going to end up paying more than those getting the tax cuts.

I am very thankful these people are standing up for us but it really doesn't seem there's enough people representing the people who actually care about the people.

97. The Republicans won this November by charging their base on the idea |

that they would balance the budget. How do they propose to do that now? What benefits, what tax breaks will the Republicans end?
This should get interesting.
