Obama has wisely invoked Reagan-style optimism
Edited on Wed Jan-26-11 12:10 PM by Still a Democrat
He's Mr. America-can-do while the GOP is cornered into being the party of gloom and doom. He's always had high likability and weaving this in will only help. Brilliant politics.

2. Yeah, I am so much more hopeful now that
all of those words were spoken.
Geez, I just want to jump up and down for joy!
btw-it's Reagan...with an a.

Just more slop for the pigs.
The SOTU speech does nothing, it's just another speech.

"The speech was a distraction from what seriously ails us: an unabated mortgage crisis, stubbornly high unemployment and a debt that spiraled out of control while the government wasted trillions making the bankers whole. Instead the president conveyed the insular optimism of his fat-cat associates: "We are poised for progress."

6. Fake optimism
It is BS, just like it was with Reagan.

Yes you are hurting but hey you are a can do, I'm OK you're OK, we're #1 AMERICAN! Be proud, be happy, be optimistic while we break the rest of what little you have left while you spend your time patting yourself on the back for things you have no control over.

Shiny things, hope Hope HOPE
