Bristol Palin offered job on Phoenix radio show

PHOENIX (AP) — A Phoenix radio station has offered a job to Bristol Palin.

Mix 96.9 host Mathew Blades says Sarah Palin's eldest daughter met with the station's management Friday and that they offered her a gig co-hosting with him on his morning show.

The 20-year-old daughter of the former Alaska governor hasn't accepted the offer but Blades says she seems interested.

The former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant has purchased a five-bedroom house in the town of Maricopa, which is south of Phoenix. She came to the forefront during her mother's 2008 vice presidential run when the Palin family announced that the then-17-year-old was pregnant.

2. She's the next George W. Bush
Few have gotten so many breaks for doing absolutely nothing of worth. Considering how far she's already gotten at her age, I'm a little bit terrified to think about where she's going to be twenty years from now.

15. Please Bush has way more accomplished than her before enter public life
Bush ran several companies into the ground, went to college, the military and has a MBA. Bush is light years ahead of her in terms of life accomplishments before enter the public arena. She's a 20 year old with a high school education who's mom is famous but who personally has done nothing sans some reality TV. At least compared to even George Bush, Palin has totally no experience to make you wonder why anyone would want to hear her opinions. She's a reality TV star wanna be without the star.

16. True. I was exaggerating a bit.
I guess my main point is that, considering her young age and the amount of breaks she's had handed to her and the level of "prominence" she's already been able to attain for doing absolutely nothing, I hate to think about where she may be twenty years from now.

all that american blah, blah, blah, about working to get head is BS. it not what you know, it's who you know.

8. It's worse than that
Bristol Palin's biggest claim to fame is getting pregnant while practicing abstinence.

Maybe that will be the focus (no pun intended) of her show. Knocked Up radio?

"Listen to Mix 96.9 and you can have Monica Lewinsky in the morning, Bristol Palin in the afternoon, and you'll have Krust E. Krabbes overnight."

7. Taking Tripp to Arizona is a violation of Alaska law
Bristol and Levi never went to court to renegotiate the terms of custody. She would be in big trouble if he got off his lazy ass, got a real lawyer and went to court to get it enforced.

10. "So, like, um, isn't abstinence cool n stuff?"
"I wouldn't know since I don't actually practice it, but my mom says I have to tell people that sex is bad. And it is. So very, very bad. Letting yourself lose all control like that and giving in to your primal needs....wrapping yourself lustfully around each other as you passionately kiss, caress and grab at.....is it ok if I smoke on the air?"

26. Except for some of the wording, the point is agreement. I don't see a problem,
as some do, with single parents. Especially single parents who are supporting themselves and their child/children.

It is a wonderful country in that a president can show such disrespect for the office that BJs can occur, in the office. It is true that married people are sometimes less than faithful to their spouses, but most of them are not presidents.

Mix 96.9 is probably chock full of opportunities for Phoenix-area single moms, I'm sure.

earnestly-involved-with-dad-momness.

14. Why bitch about a single mom who bought a house, signed up for college and was offered a job
Sure, it's her mother's fame or infamy that got her this but Bristol is using it to her advantage in a positive way.

19. Good for her. A single mom who is supporting her child. No one forces
people to pay her for her appearances on a speaking engagement.

I'm sure the producers of DWTS did not invite her to the show to avoid having their fingernails plucked out.

She is working. She has moved out of her parents' home. She is going to go to college. She has bought a house. She is moving on. Good for her.

29. Apples and oranges. Chelsea Clinton was a child whose parents
tried to keep her out of the spotlight. Bristol Palin SEEKS the spotlight; made a shit-ton of money from being judged publicly, in fact. But I'm guessing you knew that... :hi:

30. It likely will be a short gig
Bristol might generate a bit of interest from the curious, but unless she has a modicum of hidden talent and a quick quipping wit, and being without any professional training or a college education, unlike the little that her mother apparently managed to get out of a communications degree with an emphasis in "journalism" (heh!!) after 6 years, I doubt if she will last more than a few months.
