The mega-rich win another round, and our party slinks off with their tail between their legs |
|
Months from now the cry will be where are the jobs. Month from now the cry will be we're obstructing the Republican mandate. Months from now they will hold yet more guns to the head of our party and demand concessions, not cooperation, concessions.
Months from now the president will cave yet again to the endless pressure of the Reich-wing noise machine. And OUR legislators will be quiet, protecting their turf for the battle in 2012. Or lining up to work on K street against us.
I thought the era of Reagan sucked.....

1. What concessions? Our side is struttig around touting the "bipartisan" "results" |
|
After all, one cannot be perceived as "caving in" when one was not holding up the ceiling in the first place and the result is what both sides want.
Our leadership is not on the same page as us, people. They're not "caving", they're getting what they want. It's not what we want, but few in Washington care what we want.

11. You have a job, don't you? |
|
Lots of people don't, you know. They're going to benefit from this bill. Most of them, anyhow. But you have a job, so that's meaningless to you, right?

the number of so-called 99ers is much larger than the folks who will have their benefits extended.

Using the unemployed as cover to give more money to the wealthy is just EVIL. Period.

I didn't want you basing your whole opposition to the tax cut and stimulus package on a mistake.

From what I'm seeing, there are all kinds of folks in our party waving their hands in the air and shouting hallelujahs to the sky. I don't expect to hear a peep out of them in three months when their Grand Compromise comes the cropper that many of us see quite clearly. By that time, however, I'm sure there will be lots and lots of reasons invented for why no jobs have been created, why the wealthy are getting wealthier, why revenues aren't rising, and why social security seems more precarious than ever. It will have to do with terrorists or sun spots or Neptune being in retrograde or some damn thing.

It's not about Obama or Dems not having a backbone -- they have
backbones of STEEL when it comes to serving the public interest
versus serving the corporate fascists.

I'm not falling for their theatrics anymore. This is what they have always wanted and planned ... turning America and her people over to the corporations total control.
