Can't Tweety just ask a frigging question?
Just once...why can't he just ask the g-dd--ned question instead of repeating his clauses over and over and over again...and then cutting off the poor schmuck who's trying to answer???

why have guests when you can just blather????

AAAUGH!!!

1. Haha! I KNOW! And I'm a Tweety fan but you nailed it! He doesn't realize
a question mark indicates you stop, wait for the response.

2. I totally agree. I'm shocked that people don't turn him down...why bother to show?
He won't shut up long enough for them to answer or interrupts them halfway through.

He even did it when his wife was on. Rather than call him on it, she kept trying to talk over him. It was really disturbing.

6. I once heard somebody describe what he does perfectly.
He or she said that Tweety will ask a question, then he will ask it again, then he will answer it, and then he will ask you if you agree with him!

8. Makes me NUTS...
I have a few patients who try to finish my sentence while I'm speaking...it is everything I can do not to lose my temper, but I understand that quirk...it is almost always someone who's very lonely and needs to join with me. That's fine...but this...THIS is just outrageous...

11. I wrote a diatribe on him years ago...
I swear he read it, b/c not long thereafter, he mentioned 3 of my 4 points against him on the TeeVee - in a dismissive manner of course...It was a proud moment for me...

20. How nice you have control over whether they CAN speak.
My dentist and I are politically quite compatible, and care about what the other says.
So he does not ask or make statements before he has arranged that I can answer.

:)
You are absolutely correct about Tweety. He can't help himself. Too bad. Because that should preclude his having a show.

12. He does get excited

He has little patience for a non-answer answer, but it seems that he's gotten so used to them that he anticipates them.

It is a funny habit, though.

I don't watch him that often, but it annoys my wife and makes me laugh.

Maybe I'm getting old, but I see a lot more of this in real life, or at least I notice it more. Waiting for someone to finish before speaking is a common courtesy that seems to be less common.

Family has a big influence on this. In my family, we all speak out of turn, cut each other off, and guests find it uncomfortably chaotic. But... it's what we do. However, not doing that with others was a skill I had to expressly learn when I got older, and I've become less and less patient with people who interrupt.

15. That's true but all this week he's been really good taking down Bachman &
the teabaggers. Tweety can be really annoying but I've been loving him in the last few days. :applause:

16.  I posted a similar thread.
I apologize. Cris Mathew's manner of talking over his guests is appalling.
