Chris Mathews
I haven't watched Chris Mathews in years and I couldn't recall, Why not? Tonight in the spirit of the new line-up on MSNBC I turned his show on and within the first 10 minutes I remembered why I don't like to watch him. He had two guests on and when each of them would begin to talk, he would interrupt and talk over them. I can't stand his manners.

2. It's a bad habit of his but it's been a thing of beauty
this week when he's done it night after night to his teabagger guests. Matthews really showed them up for the ignorant fools that they are.

7. He tends to be quixotic
My first annoyance with him was his voice, which can be grating, but I got used to it.

I think the interruptions are often because he thinks so fast that he often knows what a guest is saying by the midpoint of a sentence. Yes, sometimes it works beautifully.

Somewhat more of an annoyance are his fixations. I can guarantee, for example, that I'll soon hear, for the 847th time, the correct way to pronounce "Cheney." :)

His style is not for everybody. That doesn't mean his show is bad.

6. He's a really rude and disruptive interviewer. But it's the fucking phonies who cope the worst.
So it kind of works out ok.

9. Why do some call him tweety?
Edited on Thu Jan-27-11 08:02 PM by howaboutme
I've watched CM for years even though I have never appreciated or enjoyed his overpowering fast talking, aggressive style, that was always more about him speaking, than those he was interviewing. He used to be quite conservative. I prefer pundits and interviewers that show respect rather than their games of gotcha. Actually I'm tired of hearing pundits, and would prefer that they all shut their yap and instead the media should give us the truth and all factual news and allow each of us to decide. Pundits have been harmful to America.

15. Tweety has been on fire lately.
I can't remember the last time I've laughed so hard while watching "news commentary".
