Dennis Kucinich as someone he is not. First and foremost, he represents the people of his district, many of whom desperately need the extension of unemployment benefits. Dennis Kucinich is a pragmatist. He does what needs to be done to help the people who elected him.

Dennis Kucinich is a great Congress member for his constituents. He also has some very good progressive positions. When push comes to shove, though, he votes in a way that will offer the most benefit to those who vote in his district. That's what members of Congress do, you know.

He is not a god. He is not a purist. He is an elected legislator who knows his district and its needs.

On edit: The biggest supporters of Dennis Kucinich as a staunch and unbending progressive do not live in his district, and cannot vote for him. He knows that. He likes his job, and wants to keep it, just like every other career politician. It is a mistake to hold him up as an idol. He is not that, and will disappoint those who think of him that way.

11. One small change
It is what Congress is supposed to do but few ever consider them in their decisions.

Long time Kucinich supporter here. It is those who hate him who say we think he is a God or whatever. He does things I disagree with now and again, it is the nature of the game but I trust him most of the time to be doing what his constituents need or want, not what I want. I think most of us are that way. Too bad others are so into the game of straw men and name calling to see who and what he really is.

I disagree with this vote as I did with his vote on HCR (especially considering he was doing it because BO asked him to and expected some support from him in return, good grief Kucinich) however, wasn't the bill voted on in the house a much different bill than what the senate voted on? Sorry, I have been too busy to really study up on anything specific.

12. No, they voted on the same bill. It goes directly to the President
for his signature.

18. Did Obama make him say Ron Paul was his number one VP pick
too? Looks like Kucinich doesn't have a problem with compromise, especially if he was OK with a RW republican as his running mate.

constituents and/or the administration. I reject the premise that voting for it is being being pragmatic, reasonable, and sensible vs. those who voted against it as purists, unpragmatic and unreasonable.

This advances Reaganomics into the future and leaves it to another day for fighting against it. And that is with all three branches of government under Democratic Party rule. This is very disturbing to me on many levels looking forward. It is very disarming to the effort to fight that philosophy.
