Can any thing be done to stop a radio person? |
|
There is the most hateful person I have ever heard on local morning radio here. He makes horrible statements every day but one in particular has me worried, He screams that Obama IS a Muslim and says it in a tone that is frightening. I know there is free speech but can you repeat a lie like that when you know better? Also to lead the ignorant to hate all Muslims just because they are alive is so sick and he claims to be Christian... I will be back on the computer tomorrow I just had to get up and post because I can't sleep thinking about all of this ...The reason the radio is on in the morning is I fall asleep listening to coast to coast and wake up hearing him scream his hate... Goodnight and Thanks...

1. Get a radio that shuts off while you sleep. |
|
The Free Market demands assholes like him on the radio. It's entertainment.

3. Complain to the radio station, first. |
|
Complain to his sponsors. If his radio station is simply nuts and doesn't mind the bad PR, see if he's saying anything that you can't say on the air: slanderous claims or accusations, for instance. This would be grounds for an FCC complaint. Likewise if he's inciting violence.

File complaints with the station manager and any and all licensing agencies. Then file complaints with his sponsors and encourage others to do so.
I would also consider doing something like iTunes radio or another method for which you to awake. There are enough techie devices out there that I am sure something can be found.

Sleep with no radio...or the TV on low.
The brain does absorb what you listen too while you sleep. train yourself to sleep in silence.
You have control, not the radio. buy a timed cut-off switch.
If the guy you hate is making money, complaining to the stations mean nothing to them. search for other solutions, or embrace freedom of speech.

6. Get a radio with a 'sleep' function to go to sleep, and another set to a different |
|
station and use the 'alarm' feature on that one.

8. Shred a bunch of aluminum. Fire the chaff into the air around the antenna. |
|
That's a little extreme, probably, but it's effective.
