Why the US would take the side of a dictator...
I'm wondering if the Obama admin is standing behind Mubarak because they feel it's better a dictator than the Muslim Brotherhood. I'm certainly not encouraging the support of a dictator but I do wonder if this is the reason why. If all these countries were taken over by Islamists leaders, we could possibly see more countries against the US based on our Imperialism and foreign policy and the Middle East disintegrating.

1. In the clear choice between offal or manure Obama decidedly chose dung
The MB are hardly bastions of liberal thought.

Maybe el Baradei is worth a second look.

2. America has a long history of supporting dictators.
I guess this isn't one of the things Obama wants to change.

3. our authoritarian asshats are wearing white ass hats
you have to pay attention to the color of the asshat when it comes to authoritarian asshat dictators.

Having backed these thugs for decades, it is unlikely that the populist governments that replace them will look kindly on us or take our suggestions (and threats of course) on how to govern.

7. I'm not making excuses, I'm trying to understand.
I don't follow foreign policy much so I'm trying to figure this all out.
