Carlyle Group moves to buy its first water company
Source: Missoulian

Mountain Water Co. filed paperwork in Helena this week asking for a determination of the role Montana's Public Service Commission will play in its parent company's sale to giant private equity firm The Carlyle Group.

The petition filed with the PSC asks first that the board waive its jurisdiction and approve the sale, which would transfer California-based Park Water Co. to Carlyle.

... Carlyle is an alternative asset manager with $97.7 billion in assets under firm management. The firm announced its intention to buy privately held Park Water, which is currently owned by the Wheeler family, in late December.

The deal would be Carlyle's first water venture.

3. So it begins, Carlyle will sell us water; Monsanto will sell us food...
Lockheed-Martin will determine foreign policy...

I forget: Who's going to determine domestic policy?

Why bother with a Congress? Just dissolve it and let the Fortune 500 each send a representative to the new "Corpgress."

12. This is just a first act.
This is why these right wing interests could care less if clean water becomes a rare expensive commodity. There is a reason they did not support the original clean water act. The less there is the more valuable it becomes -just like oil (and health care).
