I know it's our paternalism, yada yada yada, but if we don't get in there to broker the institutionalization of some reform, the fundamentalists might come in with something that'll ultimately deprive people--largely women-- of a range of other rights (although they might be free of some of the levels of police corruption they currently have to endure).
At least maybe the Egyptians can get a jobs program and some redistribution of wealth to the impoverished masses (even if we can't.)

If you want to guarantee an anti-American reaction just watch what would happen if Obama or Clinton made that kind of proposal.
"Jobs program"??? I think the Egyptian people/protesters are a bit beyond being satisfied by an American-style "jobs program".
