3. It's not a military coup.
It's a popular uprising analogous to fall of Soviet Union. But, yes, it may not turn out well. It could go lots of ways.

It's a popular citizens uprising with the backing of the military, apparently, based on what I am aware of. Remember that the Soviet/Yeltsin uprising was a response TO an attempted military coup (if I recall correctly.)
