BWHAHAHA: George W Bush: I'M THROUGH WITH POLITICS, Don't Want To Campaign Or Fundraise
The 43rd president, who has been sparing in his public appearances since leaving the White House, took questions from C-Span this past Monday at a Southern Methodist University forum. Asked whether he was "through with politics," Bush replied: "Yeah."

GWB:

" I don't want to go out and campaign for candidates. I don't want to be viewed as a perpetual money-raiser. I don't want to be on these talk shows giving my opinion, second-guessing the current president. I think it's bad for the country, frankly, to have a former president criticize his successor. It's tough enough to president as it is without a former president undermining the current president. Plus, I don't want to do that. In other words, in spite of the fact that I'm now on TV, I don't want to be on TV ... I tell people that one of the interesting sacrifices, I don't think you sacrifice to run for president, but to the extent you do is you lose your anonymity. I like the idea of trying to regain anonymity to a certain extent. And being out of the press, at least in this stage of the post-presidency is something that makes me very comfortable and its somewhat liberating, frankly.

7. Yes, George, you are still irrelevant to the conversation, as you will always be.
The only groups paying him to speechify are those paying him back for all the money he pumped into their corporate coffers while Resident in the WH.

Other than Liberty U or Clown College (same thing?), I can't imagine him giving a graduation speech.

Corporate personhood is in, Keith and Obama are out, the wealth has been redistributed, supply side economics has made a comeback, and we sub-$250K lesser people types have been put on a slow boat back to the Dark Ages.

1. I got mine, screw any up and comers.
2. Most people can recognize that having Bush Jr. campaign for them would be a disaster, so no one's asking him.

George W Bush: I'm Through With Politics, Don't Want To Campaign Or Fundraise, January 28, 2011

YouTube (1:07)

January 28, 2011

.....

"I don't want to go out and campaign for candidates, I don't want to be viewed as a perpetual money-raiser," the Republican told C-SPAN's "Q&A" in a program to air over the weekend.

"I don't want to be on these talk shows, giving my opinion, second-guessing the current president," he added. "I think it's bad for the country, frankly, to have a former president criticize his successor."

Bush has been largely absent from politics since leaving office in January of 2009. He kept a low profile for the first two years of Obama's presidency, and declined to campaign for any Republicans during the 2010 campaign. Bush notably scheduled the release of his book, "Decision Points," after the Nov. 2 election.

The role Bush has chosen for himself differs starkly from his former vice president's choice. Former Vice President Dick Cheney has been a frequent and vocal critic of the Obama administration when his health has permitted.

.....

If only he had been entirely absent from politics. Along with the rest of this family.

Now, we have the fallout of the Bush Family catastrophe engulfing every direction, while he blithely chooses his role for himself in private life.

He may yet have a date at the Hague.

God willing, we all live to witness it.

Laura probably put her heel down on his face once again and told Georgie that he couldn't play president anymore especially with those very bad boys from the hood.

48. That is one thing I do NOT miss AT ALL!!! Mr. Slurred Speech of America.
That damn drone. GOD! I woke up one morning (after we'd dozed off with the TV on) and it was still on MSNBC or something, and there was a clip of him from something the day or night before, and it was like a buzz saw going off next door. First thing I did is grab a pillow and bury my head in it. That voice was almost as bad as palin's. AWFUL. Grating on the ears. And he couldn't enunciate to save his miserable life. Amazing that one individual can rise to that level of position and achievement, and yet STILL qualify as a LOSER.

Sure, he provides a minefield of comic material, but now we have the baggers to laugh at.

In regard to his left-handed dig of Obama, he seems to be saying (who really knows?) that if he did feel like getting out more to speak about his successor, it would be nothing but criticism to be said. This poor excuse for a human being who is known for his enjoyment of shooting off his mouth, particularly at those who get under his skin, is choosing to stay quiet because it has everything to do with the fact (or deal that was made) that Obama has chosen not to allow any prosecution of the boy king for his many crimes.
