I encourage everyone not to jump to any conclusions about the result in Egypt.
Everyone is acting like it's a foregone conclusion that Mubarak is out and democracy will bloom. But we might have assumed the same thing during the height of the Green Movement in Iran. And even if the government falls, we don't know what will replace it.

Nothing is settled until it is. I prefer to withhold judgment until I know what the result actually will be.

1. Refreshing perspective. We wouldn't want anyone making wild speculations...
that will only raise our hopes, then dash them. Since both the military (with the apparent support of both the U.S. and Israel) and the Islamists seem to have designs on Egypt, this is definitely a "wait-and-see" situation.

However, I'm also sure we can forgive those who would like to see the best possible outcome for the people of Egypt, which would also be the best possible outcome for the rest of the world, excepting despots and dictators.

2. I doubt a "democracy" is in the cards no matter what...
MB-backed is far more likely unless the current regime agrees to major changes so as to stay in power.

3. Yup. This may end up fading away in a day or two. Or not.
We won't know until later. The outcome is very uncertain.

5. I think Mubarak is toast as part of the army is turning on him.
What happens after that is another matter.
