I'm watching Gasland right now, a movie about the the Natural Gas Industry
and their practice of Fractured Drilling or just Fracking.

Basically, what they do is inject all these toxic chemicals into a well to create fractures in the ground and force the trapped NG into a well line.

Before they started this aggressive drilling in 30 states across the country, Cheney and his energy task force had inserted exemptions for Fracking related pollution from the Environmental Laws...

Nothing about this in the Main Stream Media, nothing brought up as a campaign issue.

One of the people said they expected this from Bush since Cheney was involved but wondered why president Obama hadn't done anything yet...

People are being ruined by this practice, financially and health wise and no one gives a shit...

This is the kind of stuff you would expect in the Soviet Union or Communist China or some third world countries, but here in the US?

Why are we even bothering to worry about anything when the fix is so far in our children's children's children will be living with the consequences of what we are allowing to happen in this country RIGHT NOW!!!

4. It was on HBO two months ago and this is the first time we have ben
able to watch it. I recorded it through the Cable device that allows you to record up to 70-75 programs.

I'm keeping it.

2. They are turning the country into a toxic waste dump.
The industry trolls will be along shortly to tell you it is all in your imagination. They show up every time Gasland is mentioned in a post with the "nothing could be safer" line of bullshit.

7. People here are probably tired of seeing these links, but this is personal to me.
This is one of the best sites for what is taking place in PA and has great links to all things involving Fracking.

http://www.donnan.com/Marcellus-Gas_Hickory.htm

Follow the lobbyist donations in PA. (Hint) two names to remember are Governor-Elect Corbett and Tom Ridge is the point man for the lobbying efforts. Duct tape and plastic isn't going to work against flammable water.

Learn about mineral rights and why it's so easy for the Frackers to do whatever they damn well please.

No accidents involving the Frackers you say....

If this same water killed thousands of fish,
would you want your cattle in there?

9. Gasland has really made a lot of people pay attention here in PA.
The word is finally getting out, but Corbett and Ridge and a Republican state government is not good news.

PA was really making progress at environmental remediation of the damage from the coal industry. We still had a long way to go, but there was real progress and now this new way to devastate the air, land and water comes along.

Some days you just want to give up, but then I remind myself that is exactly what the Frackers want.

11. I live in NY
We are the next target in the gas companies sights. There is a huge amount of Gasser propaganda filling the print and airwaves.

10. I just saw it.
It is mind-boggling that they think creating hundreds of thousands of toxic plumes is a good idea.

Fracking=Very bad

14. This Movie Has Made The Domestic Oil & Gas Industry Uneasy.

Fracking is an integral part of developing the big, hugely profitable oil shale plays in the country, from Texas all the way up to New York. The industry is scared of this flick, believe me.
