My Guess Is The Next Time We Hear From Mubarek - He'll Be Speaking From......
outside of the country.

The other thought I had was how soon will BushCo start taking credit for causing this want for democracy in the ME? And how soon will the Repugs and the right wing talking heads and Fox turn on Obama for the handling of this situation. We all know that what ever Obama does will be criticized by them. I'm just wondering out loud - how soon they will start jumping on him?

3. Nobody here is going to take 'credit' for what the outcome of this is
The Bushites are just glad this happened on Obama's watch. It could just as easily happened during theirs.

5. He won't be speaking again
The Speaker is about to 'speak' on state TV. It can only be to announce that he's stepped down.

7. They better not allow Mubarak in the US if he flees.
Have they forgotten the mess with the Shah of Iran?

10. He has put all his chips on the table
in a very high stakes game. The army is the wild card. If they desert him, he is TOAST. The worst outcome would be for the Muslim Brotherhood to take over. Gah!
This was planned well because
<snip>
"Lieutenant General Sami Enan, chief of staff of Egypt's armed forces, was leading a delegation in defense talks that started on Wednesday and were set to run through February 2."

I wonder who else is with him.

6. You actually believed BushCo when Smirky offered he wanted democracy to "flower" in the ME?
LOL! To be clear, BushCo never intended nor ever wanted "democracy" to flower in the ME. They simply used the word "democracy" as a slogan for and fancy labeling of their naked takeover of Iraq. In fact, their nightmare scenario is that the people sitting on top of their oil will someday decide their own national destiny by means of implementing true representational democracy. BushCo likes dictators and authoritarian regimes as long as they play ball or at least stay out of the way while they loot the planet.

Cheers!

9. you misunderstood Bush.
Edited on Fri Jan-28-11 05:25 PM by GSLevel9
Bush clearly meant;

"We will promote democracies in nations where they want to be like us and allies with us and emulate US Democracy, however democracy leading to US unfriendly regimes will not be tolerated."

:sarcasm:
