This is not the time to take sides.
Obama did the right thing.
He promoted freedom and peace and human rights.
Cenk is horrible!

He acts like a spoiled rich kid that has never had to work a day in his life.
MSNBC needs to find someone better.

freedom and ... yawn. This man who let torture continue, this man who won't close Guantanamo, this man who let bush and his cabal off ... yes, I can just smell the freedom.

93. Read Wiki leaks on Repug blocks at State & local level for prision transfer
out of Gitmo. Every Repug at the state & local level passed legislation for housing Terrorist & NOW they have no where to go!!! Your state probably too.

And it takes a LONG time to build a criminal case against BUSH, YOU need EVIDENCE and searching through tons of email & $$ tracing to do it.

Read Mcclathy Paper--they are building the case.

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/ & search the site--It's all there

So our government's position was substantially different. Of course, we screwed Iran out of their democracy, so even so, what our government says about their is largely better un-amplified.

55. There is no doublespeak in Kerry's comments
Edited on Fri Jan-28-11 08:04 PM by karynnj
What do you have a problem with?

- Kerry's call for Mubarak to re-open communication?
- Kerry's call for him to not use force?
- Kerry's call that they have free elections that respect the people?
- Kerry speaking of peaceful protest - using the examples of King and Ghandi - (not to mention his OWN protests in the 1970s were greatly influenced by these men. )

Kerry's last paragraph suggests that this leads to a fair election.

What exactly do you want Obama. Clinton, Kerry etc to do?

14. Cenk comes across as a radical without a clue to foreign policy.
He was put in his place by the guests, 3 of them, who said the President was right. This is why radicals have no place on the public media...they skewer the reality. Does Cenk really think calling the President "Obama" gets him anywhere. It is a total lack of respect and MSNBC needs to send him home.

K&R your statement. All you'll get is that you're wrong from the rest, but you're not wrong.

That we are inundated by radicals on the right in the media..

If all we ever see are rightist radicals and centrists on the M$M then a great many people are going to assume that the acceptable choices run from centrism to radical rightism..

Split the difference as the M$M is wont to do and you end up with our civil discourse being bent quite far to the right.

 REALLY, they skewer WHOSE reality?

The MEDIA'S agreed upon reality?

The ADMINISTRATION'S agreed upon reality?

Reality has differing points of view, they
ALL reflect SOMEONE'S "reality".

Are you saying that we should not be offered
different opinions or points of view, especially
in the matters of FOREIGN affairs?

Sounds like you're one of THESE guys:

"The aide said that guys like me were "in what we call the reality-based community," which he defined as people who "believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality." ... "That's not the way the world really works anymore," he continued. "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors…and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."<2>

That's simply untrue and largely an effect of the (non) coverage in the American media.

Elbaradei is there with a good deal of support and there is a legislature and there are military leaders the Obama government could speak to in good faith.

The president is by no means "stuck" with supporting this brutal bastard. Hello?

Yet even more reason to a) get the hell out of Afghanistan (yes, I know it's not technically the Middle East, bear with me) and Iraq, and b) reduce dependence on foreign oil.

Stay out of it. This is Egypt's fight. The North was pissed as hell when they learned that the British were aiding the South during the Civil War--how is this any different?

54. "He acts like a spoiled rich kid that has never had to work a day in his life."
Sorry you feel that way. You obviously don't know anything about Cenk and I hope you do some research into his actual background. Cenk stands for strength and always finding a good balance. Check into older clips of TYT on youtube and perhaps you'll see. Or tell him to shut his mouth. I'm going to root for him. He's fucking awe-inspiring. Cheers.

63. Do you love stepping on hornet's nests?
Criticizing Cenk on DU. I would not call Cenk an idiot, but he does spin off a decidedly anti-Obama air. I find some of Cenk's charges ill advised and clearly wrong. I am willing to wait, maybe Cenk will find his stride. But if he does not, there are plenty of others ready to take his place.

67. Cenk is a blowhard pundit, not the President. He has no idea how
to handle a hot potato political situation. He needs to take it down a notch. I for one am not watching his show.

85. The administration has done a pretty poor job handling this political situation.
Comments from Biden and Clinton have not been well received. The President has been woefully behind the curve throughout.

Siding with the banks and financial elites at the start of the economic crisis, transferring their private debts onto our public balance sheet and enabling them to continue commodities speculation, has directly fueled this massive uprising. Once again, many people saw it coming and warned the administration against going down this path.

96. +1000... It's As If Some People Think That OUR Problems Can Be Solved
by MORE APATHY! I don't suggest blood shed, but I certainly think it's time we SHOUT OUT our disagreement loud and clear!

The RIGHT WING certainly doesn't hold back and THEY seem to be flourishing. Where's our OUTRAGE??

Right, it must be Cenk who is the idiot! :eyes:

Wait, I promised myself I would not sink to posting knee-jerk reactions to comments without making sure I understand them correctly.

So, did you forget the :sarcasm: tag?

It is not written in stone that he has to be for the present regime, just because every President since Ronald Reagan has propped him up.
