1. #3 after a fair and transparent election.
The world will have to accept whoever the Egyptians legitimately choose.

2. What is the problem with the high polling answer? The Palestinians voted for Hamas.
Democracy in action when the People have been indocrinated with hate for so long.

That is what Egypt has done with our foreign aid. Promoted hatred for America and Israel.

Where do you get that info. from?

Also, this is about democracy in Egypt. Please don't turn this into a I/P argument which results in this OP being sent to the dungeon.

13. My point in responding to the poll is that democracy following a thorough mind poisoning
is meaningless.

How do you expect the People to vote when they have been fed hate for decades?

It's just an ironic sidenote that American aid to the Egyptian government has been used to prop up its own popularity by denigrating its sponsors.

So now we are engaged in purging the double dealing hypocrisy and replacing it with a hatred of purer pedigree.

Mubarak is a hypocritical double dealer.

But now we can usher in an era of top notch religious assholes in Egypt who are perfectly capable of co-opting the secular desire for self governance with a socially imposed deference to whomever speaks most convincingly on behalf of Allah.

17. Touche, except Americans have plenty of room to babble about negative spin with their own subsidy.
And then pin hopes on "democracy" poisoned with negative spin.

Yes, it's complicated.

But arrest of clerics would be the prescription.

Those guys are not good for anybody.

18. having lived and worked in Egypt,
I doubt I ever found an individual to be preaching as much hateful stereotyping as you just did. To the contrary, most do like Americans, though not our government and its policies. And, no, they are not taught to hate, though your RW stereotyping of all in the Arab world is noted.

while the country settled down and put elections together. He's a very decent man and has expressed his willingness to do that.

could be called to form interim government until clean elections can be held.

Even some in MB agree:

(From AJ blog site)

1:13 am - A senior Muslim Brotherhood leader speaking to Al Jazeera Arabic, our sister station, has said that Mubarak has to step down and the military should intervene.
