Bush says he is through with politics, fund-raising - Jan 29, 2011 02:31AM

Former president George W. Bush says he is through with politics, fund-raising and campaigning — and has no interest in political punditry.

“I don’t want to go out and campaign for candidates. I don’t want to be viewed as a perpetual money-raiser. I don’t want to be on these talk shows giving my opinion, second-guessing the current president,” Bush told C-SPAN in an interview scheduled to air on Sunday.

1. That little puke is STILL lying.
How about NOBODY WANTS YOU and you're political poison. Like this was HIS decision. That decision was made FOR him. Btw, he didn't like politics while he was president. "Dont want to be on those talk shows giving my opinion." He doesn't HAVE an opinion. that would require actual thought. Besides, I'm guessing he's so far into his alcohol by now he is not longer fit to show up in public.

OK, rant off.

8. Exactly, is anyone asking for his "help"?
There are perhaps a few deep crimson corners in the bright red states where he could perhaps be effective. This would be pretty small potatos for an ex-pres, and would not add to his "legacy". JEB probably asked him to hang it up. JEB's only shot relies on his brother more or less disappearing for quite some time.

I would feel just the same. The DC carnival ride never ends for most of these folk. It can't help but help everyone if people like this stop opining and try actually living.

10. The thing is he no longer has his "people" telling him what to do,
and he therefor does not have anything to say...he was a tool of the rich and a puppet from the beginning, and he has no one pulling his strings now.

Have a drink, George.

He'll be safer if he drops out of public view. What's the time limit? 10 years? 15?

13. I must give him credit in this regard.
Bush has largely kept his mouth shut. Some will claim, ad nausea, that is because Obama is running Bush policies, nothing could be farther from the truth, but if that makes some feel valued, go at it. Bush is doing what every former President should do, focus on fund-raising for societal causes that almost everyone can agree on, and stay away from politics.

George W. Bush is an election-stealing, war criminal and traitor. The sooner he's behind bars, the better.

22. I believe him.
After all, doing any of those things would severely cut into his drinking time.

You'd be hard-pressed to convince me that he wasn't bombed out of his gourd the whole eight years he squatted at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
