Beware Virgo drivers, Allstate data warn
Beware Virgo drivers, Allstate data warn

Don’t call them aggressive drivers. Call them “resourceful” drivers, and that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the worst on the road.

Virgos, known for being practical, industrious and perfectionists, were 700 percent more likely to be in a car accident in the last year than passionate, determined Scorpios, according to Allstate Insurance, which recently compared claims data against the revised astrological calendar.

Scorpios were involved in only 1.5 percent of accidents last year, making them the best drivers on the road. The rest of the list, from best to worst drivers, was Ophiuchus, Cancer, Aquarius, Libra, Aries, Capricorn, Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces, Taurus, Leo and Virgo.

Allstate found that drivers whose Zodiac signs are tied to traits such as compassion, graciousness and resourcefulness had the fewest number of reported accidents.

2. Hey, I like these new zodiac signs
Since I was informed that I've gone from being a Sagittarius to an Ophiuchus (& have no idea how to pronounce that), it seems my driving has drastically improved!! Who knew!??!

Now where's my car insurance discount, huh?

:P

3. So is this the NEW sign or the old one?
Or did they decide that the new calendar was crap?

Horoscopes are too confusing now.

7. But the new improved zodiac has been rejected by mainstream astrologers!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_astrology
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ophiuchus_%28sign%29

Walter Berg in 1995 suggested a 13-sign zodiac, adding the sign of Ophiuchus to the classical twelve signs. This view was rejected by western astrologers who do not use constellations to calculate their zodiac.

11. I can only imagine that Aries has more headon collisions

Scorpios are more likely to hit you from behind when you least expect it (because you innocently happen to have cut them off in traffic 2 miles back).

Tauruses are likely to get into accidents because they were rubbernecking, distracted by some pretty girl walking by. And then they'll stubbornly argue about the ticket.

Pisces probably drive barefoot and have a heavy foot when it comes to pedal action. They probably also have a hard time staying in their lane.

Virgos probably pride themselves on being perfect drivers and park neatly inside the lines (a place for everything and everything in its place). But their car may be full of trash.

Cancers just assume they are going to be hit by someone else and so probably have invested heavily in insurance and have all the newest safety features.

Capricorns are probably driving the police car that stops you for not following the rules.
We can't have chaos in the streets afterall.

Sag is probably riding a bicycle (not wanting to held down by car payments and preferring the freedom and exercise of bicycle transportation).

Sag will likely get hit by a Libra who WAS turning left but then at the last minute decided to turn right. Oops.

14. What an absolute crock of crockery...
I've been driving since age 16.

16 years later with no accident or traffic ticket, I find my astrological sign at the end of that list...

This is like using how successful you are at drawing lottery numbers in how safe a driver you are.

17. Given that Ophiuchus doesn't exist in legitimate western zodiac, this data is obviously skewed.
