Why try and equate the poverty here to the poverty in Egypt?

Isn't it enough that we're the richest nation in the world and that the disparity between rich and poor is huge and growing? It's unnecessary. Poverty in Egypt is obviously another thing than poverty in the U.S. That doesn't excuse for one second the level of poverty in this country.
